I read an article today in which Coronation Street bosses had urged their viewers not to wait until the Corrie ad break to report any crimes.

It follows on from a statement made by Grampian Police’s call centre manager, Karen McMillan earlier this week saying that the centre was receiving a high volume of calls reporting crimes during the four minute advertisement break of ITV’s popular soap opera, Coronation Street.

I really do struggle with this Story……Have the people at ITV tipped some green paper to the police in the hope of getting some more newspaper inches, or do some people actually work like this?

I can just imagine some wee granny looking out her window, witnessing a gang of youths stealing her neighbours car, then settling back down for another 10 minutes of Corrie, before calling the coppers. What sort of world are we living in?
