Following the BBC’s announcement last month that they have commissioned Gavin & Stacey star and creator, James Corden’s new drama, The Wrong Mans, it has now been revealed that Dougray Scott will be joining the already all-star cast.
The Wrong Mans, written by and starring James Corden and Mathew Baynton, follows the story hopeless pals Phil Bourne & Sam Pinkett (played by James Corden and Matthew Baynton) whose pointless lives are turned upside-down by a chance phone call and a case of mistaken identity.
Somehow the clueless pair find themselves in the middle of a world filled with unexpected international conspiracy and intrigue, and they cross paths with mysterious Scarlett (Emilia Fox) and Stevens (Nick Moran, best known for his part in the Guy Ritchie blockbuster, Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels) as the chaos gets underway.
Meanwhile BAFTA-winning comedy actresses Dawn French takes on the role of Phil’s mum Linda, and Rebecca Front will play Cox, the ballsy head of MI5 investigating the international plot.
Also joining the cast are Prometheus star Benedict Wong, Dan Renton Skinner – best known for playing Angelos Epithemiou on Shooting Stars, Sarah Solemani – who will play Sam’s ex-girlfriend and new boss Lizzie Green, as well as Karl Roden, Stephen Campbell Moore, Tom Basden and Rufus Jones
And now it has been revealed that Dougray Scott, who is best known for parts in Mission Impossible II, My Week with Marilyn and for playing Susan Delfino’s fiancée Ian Hainsworth in the hugely popular US drama Desperate Housewives, is the latest actor to sign up to the predictably successful new comedy show.
The original concept for The Wrong mans was developed by Baynton and Corden when they worked together on Gavin & Stacey.
Exec producer Mark Freeland has claimed that the show will mix “comedy with explosions”.
