Downton Abbey Series 4: Julian Fellowes IS considering role for rapper P Diddy?
After it was reported earlier this year that US rapper P Diddy had not only expressed a desire to star in the award-winning ITV period drama Downton Abbey, but had even gone as far as to super-impose himself into several clips of the show, it would seem that show writer Julian Fellowes is actually considering taking him up on his offer!
Back in May P Diddy surprised both his, and Downton, fans by posting the following tweets on his Twitter page:
‘ATTN UK FAMILY! Start your morning off right and watch my debut on @DowntonAbbey -> http://diddy.it/DowntonDiddy #DowntonDiddy RT’
‘Click here for a preview of my debut on @DowntonAbbey Thank you for your support+RT to the world! #DowntonDiddy’
The videos were actually hilarious but, whilst we all secretly wished his dreams would come true, no one actually thought anyone at Downton would take this seriously.
But it seems we were wrong!
Julian Fellowes, the genius behind the phenomenal show due to hit our screens with its fourth series this autumn, has revealed to The Telegraph that he is actually considering taking the hit rapper, who used to go out with Jennifer Lopez, up on his offer!
The writer explained to the publication at the Life After Stroke Awards, at the Dorchester hotel in Mayfair last week:
“I’d never say never, though I imagine he’d steal the scene, even if it was a small part,”
On P Diddy’s video, Downton Diddy, in which the Every Step singer portrays new estate owner Lord Wolcott, the real first black character in his opinion, Lord Fellowes continued:
“I loved that, I thought it was fabulous. absolutely adored it, but I just couldn’t see how he could have done it.”
