Downton Abbey stars told to burn scripts & Sophie McShera to star in new comedy

The PA reports today that Downton Abbey bosses are so worried that spoilers may be leaked to the press about the forthcoming new series that they ordered the show’s stars to burn their scripts once they’d learned their lines!

Amy Nuttall, who plays maid Ethel Parks – and who formerly starred in Emmerdale – said, “We’re all under very strict instructions to keep the scripts safe…

“We have to shred or burn them as soon as we have memorised them. We can’t just throw them in the bin in case they end up in the wrong hands.

“I get so terrified when a script comes through the door. I worry I’m going to leave it on a train or in a taxi…

“The producers are so strict about what we can say because it’s such a big show. You can’t even tell friends or family what is going to happen.

“I get really scared I’ll say something by mistake. I know I’d get into a lot of trouble. I have to be careful.”

The third series of Downton Abbey is set to return to our screens next month, and it will feature kitchen maid Daisy, who fans will recall married injured soldier – and former Downton footman – William when he was on his deathbed.

However, the Daily Mirror reports that Sophie McShera, who plays Daisy, is off to explore pastures new having landed a role in a new ITV sitcom entitled, The Job Lot.

Of her role in the comedy – which will also star Miranda’s Sarah Hadland, Being Human’s Russell Tovey and Benidorm actor Tony Maudsley – Sophie said, “It’s a nice change…

“The pilot was great fun to make and now ITV have commissioned a series. I play jobseeker Bryony.

“I’m not really seeking a job, though. I’m more of a job avoider.”

We’ll keep you posted as to when The Job Lot will air.

This concept was already taken from the writers – Carla Buckingham and Shakira Meghie – they uploaded the concept to bad talk productions when their website was active to up-load un-solicitors script, they have since destoyed their website.
