ITV’s Controller of Entertainment, Duncan Gray, has commissioned a brand new quiz show, Duel, for ITV1. Each hour long episode will see contestants battle head to head in a high stakes race to win a big money jackpot. Duel creates the ultimate test of self confidence and nerve as players face total elimination from the show if they make just one error of judgement.
Duel is devised by French TV and ITV has also entered into a format agreement with the series creators.
French TV are also taking Duel to America and an announcement from one of the major US Networks is due shortly.
The eight part series will be produced by Gallowgate productions and TX on ITV1 in a peaktime slot in early 2008.
Duncan Gray said “The second Ed Forsdick and I played Duel I was hooked. It’s a compelling game which I hope will make a great TV show. I’m delighted that both French TV and Gallowgate productions will chose to work with ITV to put Duel on air in the UK.”
