In Monday’s trip to Walford, wanderer Abi Branning (Lorna Fitzgerald) is back from her adventures in Costa Rica, sporting what I think could well be THE worst fake tan in the history of soap…

Maybe she detoured via Essex for it.

However, while she’s been away, things have of course gone nuts in Square since it was revealed that Ben Mitchell (Joshua Pascoe) murdered Heather Trott, and that Jay (Jamie Borthwick) helped him cover up his heinous crime.

And of that, Abi knows nothing, so when she first gets back to the Square, she heads right over to Phil’s (Steve McFadden) house to visit with Jay, but when Phil slams the door in her face, having told her that Jay doesn’t live there anymore, she goes off to find her mum and dad…

And they have to break the news about what Jay’s done, and they hastily add that he’s now a pariah and she’s to have nothing to do with him.

But a horrified Abi needs no encouragement to stay away from Jay, and when he turns up on her doorstep, she tells him that she’s disgusted by what he’s done and that she never wants him to dorken her darkstep ever again.

Which puts a bit of a crimp on her welcome home party.
