EastEnders: After Kat Moon confesses her affair, do you feel sorry for Alfie or want to slap him round like a red headed stepchild?

by Lynn Connolly

In last night’s trip to Walford, we saw Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) confessing to Alfie (Shane Richie) that she was, as he suspected, having an affair.

As ever, Alfie took the news in an unsurprised and weary manner, while continuing to lavish affection on his compulsive knicker-dropper wife…

Because of course, it’s not the first time that Kat’s played away. She had an affair with Alfie’s cousin Michael (Steve John Shepherd) which resulted in Kat having Michael’s son Tommy. She also had a brief fling with a delivery man in what might best be described under the headline, Kat In Back Alley Knee Trembler Scandal.

But each and every time, Alfie has not only forgiven Kat, he’s also blamed himself to some degree, assuming that it’s something he can’t offer Kat that she’s seeking elsewhere.

One can only guess at what that might be, and I’ve tried to do just that, via the medium of trying to figure out how big Alfie’s feet are, and/or the distance from his thumb to his forefinger. But to no avail…

However, as to Kat’s latest dalliance, the storyline has of course been running for weeks now, with the major suspects being – after Chucky Venn’s character Ray Dixon was ruled out – any one of the Branning brothers, Jack, Derek and Max, or Michael Moon.

But it seems that Shane thinks Mr Lover Lover will turn out to be Max (Jake Wood).

He told the Daily Star, “They’re filming different endings, but I think it’s Max. You can’t trust him!”

Well, whoever the mystery man is, he’s going to be outed this week, so we’ll finally know, but the big question right now – for me at least – is this; is Alfie going to finally dump Kat or will he simply continue to be a doormat and stay with her?

What do you think?

And as to the question I posed in the title of this article, do you feel sorry for Alfie, given he’s married to a serial adulterer? Or do you want to slap him round the face and tell him to leave Kat this time before she humiliates him yet again?

While you’re thinking on that, here’s a clip from tonight’s show which sees Janine (Charlie Brooks) clarifying the “money or me” ultimatum that she issued Michael with…
