Eastenders actress, Amanda Drew, has revealed that she was ecstatic when the soap’s boss Diederick Santer approached her in January and asked her to return to the show.

Amanda told MSN: “Diederick always said he’d like to bring May back at some point and I’d always hoped she’d have more time in the Square, as it did feel like the ending wasn’t completely resolved before,” she says, with a mysterious smile.

“It felt very nostalgic returning to the set. I felt very fond of it, seeing the place I used to live on the Square. I even went up and down the steps to my old surgery just to have a look.”
