EastEnders: As Kat Moon’s ostracised for her affair, Roxy Mitchell and Alfie Moon get close under the mistletoe! (VIDEO)

by Lynn Connolly

Fans of EastEnders will know that the identity of Kat Moon’s lover is about to be revealed, and when her husband Alfie (Shane Richie) learns who his wife has been having an affair with, he’ll be left devastated.

Kat (Jessie Wallace) has of course been having an affair with one of the Branning brothers; Jack (Scott Maslen), Derek (Jamie Foreman) or Max (Jake Wood).

The big reveal is set to happen just before Christmas – in the episode that airs on the 20th – and it’s been revealed today that when the residents of Albert Square hear about Kat’s latest betrayal of Alfie, they’re going to shun Kat, ensuring she’s in for a lonely Christmas…

Even her aunt Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) can’t forgive Kat this time…

However, Roxy Mitchell (Rita Simons) is going to be a shoulder for the distraught Alfie to cry on, and armed with a consolation brandy and a sprig of mistletoe, she’s going to hope that Alfie might consider a Christmas romance with her!

Roxy was of course thrown out of the pub when Kat returned – after being away looking after her dad – following Roxy’s confession that she had a “crush” on Alfie, who, at the time, she kept annoyingly referring to as “granddad.” I’m glad that seems to be over.

But before all that yuletide drama, Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) is still trying to get custody of his granddaughter Lexi, but of course, he’s now facing fierce opposition from his former fiancé, Shirley Carter (Linda Henry).

She’s vowed to do whatever it takes to stop Phil from getting custody of Lexi, so when a social worker calls round unexpectedly during Thursday night’s episode, Phil immediately assumes Shirley has been in touch with them…

And here are a few more pictures of Kat being shunned by the locals, and of Alfie and Roxy getting close…
