Eastenders: Christian’s Gay Kiss Brings In Complaints

A gay kiss between EastEnders characters Christian and new boyfriend, Lee has sparked complaints from a number of viewers, according to the Daily Star.

Christian, played by John Partridge, snogged Lee, played by Carl Ferguson, on a bench in Albert Square. The pair offended Dot Cotton who told them off, but apparently some real life folks weren’t too happy with the sight either.

In a statement, the BBC stood by its decision to include the kiss.

“We approach our homosexual relationships in the same way as we do heterosexual relationships.

“We believe that the general tone and content of EastEnders is now widely recognised. Parents can make an informed decision as to whether they want their children to watch,” a spokesperson said.
