EastEnders: First look at Derek Branning’s daughter, Alice

On May 10th, we’re set to meet EastEnders newcomer Alice, who is Derek Branning’s daughter, and as a script peek on the show’s website features a snippet of conversation between Derek and Alice (Jasmyn Banks) in the episode that airs on June 20th, it looks like she’ll be around for a while!

The script peek reads…

Derek: Where does your Mum think you are?
Alice: It’s my off day. She thinks I’m shopping in Stratford.
Derek: You see. We’ll make a Branning of you yet.

However, as mentioned, on May 10th, Derek (Jamie Foreman) notices that a young girl has been following him around on the Square all day, and finally, paranoid about her and what she might be doing, he confronts her…

She initially runs away, but when Derek catches her, she tells him she’s his daughter! Soon after, she yet again runs away, but having left her phone behind, Derek uses it to find out where she works.

He pays her a visit, but is upset when Alice angrily says she wants nothing more to do with him, however, after laying on the charm, she eventually agrees to have lunch with him.

During their lunch, Alice reveals her anger at the fact that Derek walked out on her and her mum and brother Joey. A repentant Derek apologises and asks Alice to come and meet the rest of the Branning family that weekend.

But it’s clear that father and daughter have a lot of ground to make up before Alice can even think about forgiving Derek, much less convincing her brother Joey to!

And there’s still that rumour about Derek possibly being Lauren’s dad circulating, so at this rate, he could end up with a house full of kids!

More news on that as we get it!
