EastEnders: Janine and Michael Moon’s baby takes a turn for the worse! (VIDEO)

As fans of EastEnders will know, in last night’s hour-long episode, not only did Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) become Mrs Moon – after unwisely agreeing to rip up her pre-nup when Michael refused to marry until she did – she also became a mother when her daughter was born by caesarian section…

However, as the infant is nearly three months premature, she faces a long and arduous fight for life, and in Monday’s trip to Walford, we’ll see both Janine and Michael (Steve John Shepherd) struggling to come to terms with how ill their baby is.

And of course Michael is weighed down by a big burden of guilt given that he swore on his unborn daughter’s life when he lied to Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) about having stolen from Jean Slater (Gillian Wright).

He did of course finally admit what he’d done, being unable to bear the thought that Jean would commit suicide if she was sectioned, but by then, he’d told the lie and had sworn on the baby’s life…

And now, the little girl may die, and Michael is convinced it’s his fault. His guilt is made infinitely worse when, on Monday, we’ll see the baby in crisis as medics battle to keep her alive.

But as a distraught Janine keeps a vigil with her daughter, Michael runs out of the hospital, unable to cope.

Meanwhile, Jean goes to the hospital with the intention of confronting Michael over all he’s put her through, but when Anthony and Tyler Moon – who are played by Matt Lapinskas and Tony Discipline respectively – spot her, they beg her not to make a fuss and explain that the baby could pass away at any minute.

Here’s a spoiler clip from Monday’s episode…

Do you think Janine’s going to regret marrying Michael with no strings attached? And is it likely that he’ll change now he’s a dad?
