EastEnders: Jay has to go into hiding when the Square learns the truth about Heather’s death!
Jay Mitchell has of course been an unwilling accessory to murder – both during and after the fact – in as much as he’s known all along that it was Ben Mitchell (Joshua Pascoe) who murdered poor old Hev…
However, during this week’s special week of episodes, Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) is finally going to learn the truth, and of course, the revelation rocks not only her, but also the rest of the Square when it becomes public knowledge that it was indeed Ben who ended Heather’s life.
But initially, when Shirley discovers the photo frame that was used to kill Heather – and she tracks it back to having been in the Mitchell house – she jumps to the conclusion that it must have been Phil (Steve McFadden) who murdered Heather…
In the course of protesting his dad’s innocence, Ben lets slip that it was in fact him who smacked Heather upside the head, causing her to fall and fatal injure herself on the kitchen worktop.
So it’s not long before the rest of the story finally comes out, including of course that both Phil and Jay (Jamie Borthwick) covered up the crime.
Both soon become hate figures around the Square, prompting Jay to seek refuge in the allotment sheds, but you can’t stay hidden for long in Walford, and when Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker) finds Jay, he unleashes his fury on the poor lad.
Speaking to the Daily Star, an EastEnders insider said, “It all comes out that Ben killed Heather, which leads to a lot of fingers being pointed towards Phil and Jay.
“Shirley leaves them all to it as she can’t believe how they could cover up such a terrible crime, so Jay is left with just Phil for guidance.
“He decides he can’t face everyone and finds sanctuary in one of the sheds.
“But, as everything starts to sink in, Patrick turns up and he has nowhere to hide.
“It’s going to be a really tough time for Jay over the next few weeks and you wouldn’t blame Shirley for never forgiving him for keeping it all quiet.”
We’ll see all that drama between Jay and Patrick a week today.
