EastEnders: Kat Moon’s lover dupes Alfie into leaving his wife home alone! And Dot Branning’s back for Christmas!

by Lynn Connolly

In tonight’s episode of EastEnders, we’re set to see Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) doing her best to shun the advances of her persistent Branning brother lover who just will not take ‘No’ for an answer!

However, as Kat is trying really hard to avoid the temptation to cheat on Alfie (Shane Richie) again, in a bid to save their marriage, she’s left furious when her lover sends her a note asking her to meet him in the bedsit that has been their love nest…

Furious Kat calls her mystery man and tells him that she has no intention of meeting up with him for an illicit tryst, and warns him to stop contacting her. However, it would seem he knows Kat better than she knows herself, and when he continues to call and text, she storms round to the bedsit to tell him in person that it’s over.

But when she gets there, she finds that he’s put rose petals on the bed, has champagne on ice and has written her a loving message via the medium of lipstick on a mirror…

Livid that he’s just not getting the message, Kat rubs away the message then throws her bedsit key away. But her man’s not done yet…

When he hears that Alfie and some of the market traders want to make a trip to Germany to visit the Christmas markets – and after Kat tells Alfie they can’t afford for him to go – Alfie’s shocked to find that a mystery benefactor has paid for his ticket.

Kat of course immediately realizes who paid for Alfie’s trip, and she’s proved right when her lover texts her to say, “Finally, I’ve got you all to myself.”

We’ll see that drama tonight, but looking ahead a couple of weeks, Dot Branning is due back on the Square in time for Christmas and the “explosive” episodes that we’re promised which are set to focus on the Branning family. And of course, that includes the demise of Derek, who’s played by Jamie Foreman.

Dot was last seen on the Square earlier this year when she set off to visit relatives, but of course, her absence was in order to give actress June Brown time off.

But she hasn’t taken much rest time during her sabbatical as June’s not only been writing her memoirs, she also featured in documentary series, Respect Your Elders.

Of her return to the show, executive producer Lorraine Newman said, “Dot is one of EastEnders’ best loved characters.

“Albert Square certainly hasn’t been the same without her.”

Too right! Here’s a reminder of the hilarious moment Dot inadvertently got high…
