EastEnders: Kat Moon’s lover will be revealed in Queen Vic row at Christmas!

by Lynn Connolly

Fans of EastEnders will of course know that the whole Who Is Kat Moon’s Lover storyline has been going on for about 16 years now, and many fans – me included – have given up caring who it is…

However, the show’s bosses have decided to finally end the speculation about who Kat’s mystery man is over Christmas when, following a dramatic row between Kat (Jessie Wallace) and hubby Alfie (Shane Richie) she blurts out the name of her lover in front of a pub full of punters.

The dramatic revelation apparently comes about after Alfie goes for one of the Branning brothers, prompting Kat to yell, “You’ve got the wrong brother!”

Of course, exactly which Branning brother will be outed is being kept a closely guarded secret, but the news has prompted more speculation that the Branning in question will be Derek (Jamie Foreman) and that Alfie will kill him!

Speaking to the Daily Star, a show insider said of the climax to the plot, “It’s the question that has been on everyone’s lips for months – who is Kat’s secret lover?

“The big revelation was always going to be in the Queen Vic in front of everyone and it will not disappoint.

“Jessie and Shane are both brilliant and this is one episode viewers will not want to miss.

“Alfie goes for one of the Branning brothers as he is convinced it’s him who’s been sleeping with his wife.

“Kat storms through the pub as he’s got him on the floor and reveals the truth.

“We all got goosebumps as she yelled the line, ‘You’ve got the wrong brother’ and the comparisons were, of course, made to her showdown with Zoe. It really is classic ‘Enders.”

Fans may recall that the “showdown with Zoe” that the insider mentioned came in 2001 when Kat admitted to her ‘sister’ Zoe – who was played by Michelle Ryan – that she in fact gave birth to her.

Here’s a reminder of that classic moment…

Will you be glad that the affair storyline is finally coming to an end?
