EastEnders: Kellie Shirley was temporarily BLINDED after scenes in GBH! And Marc Elliott to move to theatre
As fans of EastEnders will know, actress Kellie Shirley recently made a brief return to the show to reprise her role as Carly Wicks, who subsequently left Albert Square again with her distraught mum Shirley (Linda Henry) in tow.
And since then, Kellie landed a role in new Brit flick GBH, and in an interview with today’s Sun, she’s revealed that she was temporarily blinded after filming one of the movie’s many fight scenes!
In GBH – which goes on general release today – Kellie plays the role of a police officer during the London riots, and one of her scenes is an “upsetting” rape scene.
Of that, Kellie said, “It’s every girl’s nightmare so it was very upsetting to play.
“You see bits of it, but some of is left to the audience’s imagination.
She went on to say that she was injured when her co-star Peter Barrett “clipped” her eye by mistake…
She said, “It really hurt! I ended up with this burst blood vessel for about two weeks afterwards.
“I couldn’t wear contact lenses so I couldn’t see anything.”
Here’s the film’s trailer…
In other news from Walford way, Marc Elliott, who of course plays Syed Masood has already lined up his next project.
Marc and his co-star John Partridge – who plays Syed’s lover Christian Clarke – are leaving the show later this year, and Marc’s now set to star in West End production, Tape, which tells the story of two men who dated the same woman at university.
