Jack Branning’s charmed existence may be about to come crashing down around him as his brother and arch enemy plan his downfall in Eastenders.

Max Branning was last night seen asking Phil Mitchell if he would help him get rid of his brother, once and for all and Phil doesn’t take too much convincing. Mitchell manages to get his hands on a gun from some criminal contacts, and the pair plot to frame Jack for a violent gun crime that he didn’t commit.

A show insider told The Daily Star: “Phil buys the gun, Max hides it in his new house and the pair start spreading stories about how the previous occupant killed his wife.

“Later, Max accidentally finds the gun and drops it in front of Jack.”

Unaware of his motives, Jack handles the gun, checks it’s not loaded then gives it back to Max and tells him to take it to the cops.

The mole added: “Now Jack’s fingerprints are all over the gun.

“Who knows what crime they may commit? But whatever it is, Jack is in the frame without even realising it.”
