EastEnders: See clip of the stars as Queen, Rachel Bright on playing Poppy, and on set with Joshua Pascoe!

by Lynn Connolly

As fans of EastEnders will know, our Walford faves are about to transform into Queen for the day – the band, not her majesty – to raise money for Children In Need…

And ahead of the big day, which is next Friday, the BBC have released a sneak peek look at the cast in full-on Freddie Mercury mode. Click here to see that.

Also making ‘Enders news is that Rachel Bright, who plays ditzy Poppy Meadow –  Jodie Gold’s BFF – has been telling the Daily Mirror what she’s loved about starring on the show.

Rachel – who’s leaving the show – also revealed which had been her favourite scene…

She began by revealing that she and co-star Kylie Babbington – who of course plays Jodie – have become close friends in the last year.

She said, “I’ve spent a lot of time with Kylie, who was my first port of call with questions, and for coffee or lunch…

“[And] a lot of people have written in saying how much they liked the double act between Poppy and Jodie and that we were a ‘breath of fresh air’.”

Rachel then went on to say that her favourite scene was the very first one she ever filmed as Poppy.

She said of that scene, in which she starred alongside Samantha Womack as Ronnie, “I’m sitting on a bench in the Square!”

And of what lies ahead, Rachel revealed that her immediate future will be somewhat low key.

She said, “I’m not a big one for blow-outs, but I am about to move house so I’ve been furniture shopping.”

Our final snippet of ‘Enders news is that Joshua Pascoe, who of course plays troubled teen Ben Mitchell, has recorded a behind-the-scenes video in which he talks about his cast mates his love of dancing, and his favourite foods.

Here’s the clip…
