EastEnders: Nina Wadia teases that Zainab may choose Yusef over Masood!

by Lynn Connolly

EastEnders star Nina Wadia, who of course plays Zainab Masood, has hinted that her character may end up falling for, and choosing to be with, evil schemer Doctor Yusef Khan rather than her loyal husband Masood.

As fans of the show will know, Zainab and Masood (Nitin Ganatra) have been apart for months, ever since Yusef – who’s played Ace Bhatti (whose real forename is Ahsen, Ace is a nickname) – began meddling in their lives and manipulating Zainab.

He even made her believe she had tried to commit suicide by taking an overdose of sleeping pills, when in fact, Yusef put crushed up tablets in her food.

His latest scheme has backfired though, because in recent episodes, Masood uncovered Yusef’s dastardly plot to make Syed (Marc Elliott) believe he wasn’t baby Yasmin’s father…

Mas is well and truly on to his tricks, and he’s going to go all out to prove to Zainab just how wicked Yusef really is, but even if he does so, can he change Zainab’s feelings for her former husband?

Well, speaking to Inside Soap about the love triangle, Nina said, “Let’s just say that what happens is the complete opposite of what you want to see.

“Zainab and Yusef share a dark and twisted love, and she definitely has feelings for him.

“It’s not true and pure like what she used to have with Masood – and if Yusef manages to get her back to Pakistan, it will be the end for her.”

However, as it’s been reported that Yusef is set to die in a fire at the B&B at Christmas, it’s probably safe to assume that if he does manage to get back with Zainab, it’s going to be a rather short lived relationship.

Nina added, “My friends keep texting me to say that they’re still rooting for Zainab and Masood.

“I hope that at some point they see the light, but personally I’m thrilled that two gorgeous men have been fighting over me!”

The country should unite in a Zainab and Masood campaign of some sort…

She can’t abandon Mas for Yusef! It’s just plain wrong! Or would you enjoy the devilment of that relationship?

After all, we do all love to hate a soapy baddie don’t we?
