EastEnders: Patrick’s engagement gift for Shirley and Phil prompts dramatic climax to the Ben & Heather storyline
As fans of EastEnders will know, August has been so far, and will continue to be, one of the busiest and most dramatic months we’ve seen on the show for a while…
Not only has Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) returned this month – but is weirdly still in the same skanky clothes and doesn’t appear to have even washed since he got back to the Square – but also Sharon Rickman (Letitia Dean) is coming back on the 13th!
However, on the subject of Ian Beale, he’s set to “freak out” when, while attending Phil and Shirley’s engagement party, he spots a portrait of Shirley and Heather that Patrick (Rudolph Walker) commissioned as a gift for the bride to be.
So when Ian drops his glass while staring transfixed at the portrait, Phil (Steve McFadden) immediately worries that he’s going to let the killer worms out of their can by revealing what he knows. However, what Phil doesn’t know is that Shirley (Linda Henry) is just about to find out the truth anyway! This incident merely serves to set the wheels in motion to the climax of the murder plotline.
An EastEnders insider told the Daily Star, “Ian’s return sends Ben and Phil into a right panic.
“Fearing he might reveal all, Phil gives Ben and Jay the task of guarding him to make sure he doesn’t speak.
“The last thing they need now is for him to blab to Shirley.”
Don’t miss that drama a week tomorrow, which is of course also when Sharon’s back!
