EastEnders: Patsy Palmer reveals miscarriage trauma, and Danielle Harold wants Fatboy and Lola romance

by Lynn Connolly

EastEnders star Patsy Palmer – who’s back on the show later this month following her maternity leave – has revealed that soon after her fourth child Bertie was born last December, she suffered a miscarriage.

Patsy, who of course plays Bianca Jackson, told Hello magazine, “It was a shock to be pregnant so soon after having our baby Bertie.

“I felt fearful that I wasn’t physically strong enough. Then, at my nine-week scan in October, they told me I’d lost the baby.

“We don’t know why. But it shook us all.”

Patsy went on to say that the support of her husband Richard Merkell, and her extended family – which includes her other three children, Charlie, Fenton and Emilia – had got her through the trauma of losing her baby.

The family are now looking forward to celebrating little Bertie’s first birthday…

Of him, Patsy said, “He has brought so much joy to the family. Returning to work was a wrench.”

In other news from Walford, Danielle Harold, who of course plays pregnant teen Lola Pearce, has revealed that she would like to see Lola in a relationship with the kind hearted Fatboy Chubb, who’s played by Ricky Norwood.

Speaking to Inside Soap, Danielle said, “Lola’s not one for relationships, [and] I know Fatboy is a bit old for Lola, but they both have similar attitudes, as they’re really streetwise.

“I actually think they’d bounce off each other quite well if they did get together.”

However, Danielle went on to say that she thinks her character needs to pay more attention to her appearance, especially if she’s ever to land herself a fella.

She said, “I’d take her to a beauty salon to get her hair done and sort out her roots!

“I’d love to do that for myself, because I have to grow them out for Lola.”

“Sometimes the make-up team have to paint my roots in if they’re not clear enough, but it is much easier for everyone if I just leave them to grow out.

“I’m pretty much Lola all the time as a result of that!”

Bless! Would you like to see Lola with Fatboy? I would; I reckon he’d make her a much nicer person!
