EastEnders: Phil Mitchell incurs Derek Branning’s wrath! And Alfie Moon’s now a stalker suspect too

by Lynn Connolly

The Who’s Stalking Phil storyline moves up a gear next week when Phil (Steve McFadden) and Shirley (Linda Henry) arrive home to find their front door wide open next week…

Yes, the stalker has been inside casa Mitchell, and Phil’s more determined than ever to get to the bottom of the mystery and find out who his tormentor is.

And as we reported recently, Phil and Shirley invite most of Walford round for a Christmas party, but they aren’t interested in wining and dining the locals; they just want to gather everyone up to see if they can spot the stalker.

However, the stalker is, as ever, one step ahead, and has planted a stack of envelopes in poor Heather Trott’s (Cheryl Fergison) bag, making her look like the guilty party…

But as she’s not really the criminal mastermind type, she’s quickly dismissed, and attention turns once again to Jack Branning (Scott Maslen).

He is of course well aware the Phil thinks he’s the one stalking him, and as a joke, he and his brother Derek (Jamie Foreman) – as well as Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) – ‘fess up and all say they are in fact the mystery omnipresent stalker.

However, unamused, Phil decides that a spot of revenge is in order, so he has Jack’s posh motor towed away and crushed. Not unreasonably, this does not go down well with the Brannings, and Derek warns Phil that he doesn’t know who he’s messing with.

Let the feud begin!

Meanwhile, the show’s bosses have added affable landlord Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) to the list of possible stalkers.

Here’s the BBC’s video “evidence” about Alfie, and a clip showing all those who had access to the memory stick – that contained Phil’s verbal confession to selling Kevin Wicks (Phil Daniels) a death trap car – that was stolen from Jack’s…

The not so Christmassy party scenes air on Monday, December 12, and Tuesday, December 13 on BBC1 in EastEnders’ regular slots.
