Roxy Michell (Rita Simons) has of course been rather desperate for some male company of late, and especially so since Max Branning (Jake Wood) spurned her advances.

Prior to that, Roxy had a one night stand with Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) and a turbulent relationship with Michael Moon (Steve John Shepherd) however he’s now playing happy families with Janine Malloy (Charlie Brooks).

As to Alfie, well, it seems that old adage about while the cat’s away – the Kat in this instance being of the Moon variety – his mouse is quite open to a play, and it becomes apparent just how open when Roxy turns up in tears at the Vic…

At the beginning of April, we’ll see Tanya Branning (Jo Joyner) reforming the book club, which is a girls only affair, and, unaware of how close Max and Roxy came to having an affair, she invites Roxy to come to the newly relaunched get together.

However, when Roxy makes a comment about being aware of the fact that Max and Tanya’s love life isn’t all it could be, Tanya’s mum Cora (Ann Mitchell) smells a rat and corners Roxy…

Under pressure from the formidable Cora, Roxy spills the beans but says that nothing ever happened and it didn’t extend beyond flirting.

But Cora wipes the floor with her, reminding her that while she was busy chasing Max, his wife was fighting for her life. So, an ashamed Roxy runs into Alfie’s arms and tells him what’s just happened…
