It seems that the new executive producer of EastEnders – Bryan Kirkwood – is to get rid of six EastEnders characters in coming months.

The Sun reports that the characters of Minty Peterson, Charlie Slater, Libby Fox, Danny Mitchell, Liz Turner and Adam Best will be written out, either by killing them off or simply being exited.

An EastEnders souce is quoted in the paper as saying, “People have been worried that the new guy would be getting rid of people…

“It’s sad to see characters go, but when a new executive producer comes in they’re always keen to refresh the show.

“Some new people will be joining – and some of those will be youngsters.”

And part of the cast shake-up has involved bringing back old favourites, Kat and Alfie Moon, but while viewers will no doubt be pleased to see them back, the paper speculates that many will be unhappy to lose so many characters.
