Sophie Thompson thinks that her Eastender’s character, Stella Crawford, is so evil that she won’t let her own children watch her on the soap.

Sophie’s portrayal of stella has caused some viewers to complain to the BBC after scenes of her bullying young boy, Ben Mitchell.

“My two sons are of a similar age to Ben so this has been a very traumatic experience for me,” Sophie, sister of movie star Emma Thompson, tells the News of the World. “I know it seems mean but I couldn’t bear [them being upset]. I just don’t feel watching the soap is right for them.”
