EastEnders spoiler: Janine goes into labour on her wedding day, 3 months early!

Pregnant millionaire, Janine Butcher, is left fearing the worst when she goes into labour on her EastEnders wedding day, three months early!

Butcher’s Joint owner, Janine (Charlie Brooks) will be left terrified that she is losing her baby when she feels the pangs of labour during her extravagant and expensive wedding to Michael Moon (Steve John Shepherd).

The story comes as part of a big dramatic summer line up thought up by the BBC, as a result of the appointment of new executive producer Lorraine Newman, to try and enhance viewing figures after it was revealed last week that EastEnders are in the middle of their glummest ratings slump in years, with the competition with Britain’s Got Talent last week seeing the figures slide to a shocking 6million, as opposed to their usual double figure average.

Janine and Michael’s wedding is set to be the most expensive, and explosive, in EastEnders history, with bosses even bringing back old cast members Sid Owen and Sophie Lawrence, who have played Janine’s brother Ricky and sister Dianne on and off since the eighties.

Scenes for the wedding were filmed last week under a huge marquee in Albert Square for the posh reception, where Janine will collapse in agony, bleeding, after the stress of the big day get too much for the bride-to-be, and are due to air on our screens next month.

The menacing madam is then rushed to the hospital by ambulance, but it is being kept a closely guarded secret as to whether she has already said I do or not before the incident, but with Brooks having signed up for this years Strictly Come Dancing, we do know that the actress will be taking a six month break from her role as Janine on the show.

An EastEnders insider told The Daily Star: “This is Janine’s wedding so it had to be big. Ever since she inherited her gran’s money she’s become the most powerful and richest woman in Walford.

“Janine has spent loads on her big day, making sure everything is the best money can buy.

Viewers of the show will have seen how Janine’s equally menacing fiancée, Michael Moon, has shown a very dark side recently, and is very obviously up to no good, but with a signed pre-nup taken care of, it leaves the mind to wander as to how he may get his hands on his new wife’s inheritance, with only sinister solutions springing to mind.

The source commented:  “This has left Michael feeling inferior and as we’ve already seen, he’s turned back to his dark side. He’s been conning money out of Jean Slater, getting her to trust him and there is lots more between these two coming up, which all comes to a head on his wedding day.

“All hell is going to break loose. There’s also the small matter of Jean’s niece Kat Moon coming back soon. There’s no way Michael would’ve been able to manipulate Jean the way he has if she’d been around.

“We’ve already filmed the wedding and the fans can expect high drama, lots of emotion and one or two surprises.”

The insider added: “People will be shouting at their TVs for Janine not to marry Michael.”

An EastEnders spokeswoman said: “We do not comment on future storylines as we don’t want to spoil it for our viewers.”
