EastEnders Spoilers: Alfie Moon’s terrified that Ronnie Branning will snatch Tommy now she’s out of prison! Is he right to be worried?! (VIDEO)

EastEnders

Fans of EastEnders will know that Ronnie Branning is being released from prison, where she was of course serving a sentence for abducting baby Tommy Moon after her own baby, James, died of cot death…

In a blind panic, Ronnie – who was played by Samantha Womack – of course swapped her tragic infant for Tommy, leaving Alfie and Kat Moon devastated, until that is Ronnie confessed to what she’d done, and handed Tommy back to his parents.

As mentioned, she then went to prison, but she’s now about to be free, and when Alfie (Shane Richie) finds out, he experiences two very strong emotions…

First, he’s terrified that Ronnie could come back to Walford and snatch Tommy, and second, he’s furious that both Kat (Jessie Wallace) and Roxy Mitchell (Rita Simons) knew about Ronnie’s impending release and didn’t tell him.

Subsequently, in the episode that airs on April 12, we’ll see a frantic Alfie race round to Kat’s to pick Tommy up, explaining to Kat that he wants the little boy at the pub where he can see him and keep him safe…

However, Kat tells Alfie to calm down and adds that as Tommy’s not well and is in bed asleep, she doesn’t want him woken and taken out into the cold.

Alfie though is having none of it, and is livid to learn that Kat had a letter some time ago warning her about Ronnie’s release…

However, realising that where Tommy’s concerned, Kat only wants what’s best, he relents on taking the tot to the Vic, and wearily returns there alone.

He then questions Roxy about Ronnie’s release, and she too admits that yes, she knew about it, however, the whole thing has made Alfie relive the horrors of the night they found the baby boy dead upstairs…

As he talks through the horrific situation, and adds that he wishes more than anything that he was Tommy’s real father, Roxy holds him close and assures him Tommy’s lucky to have him as his dad.

So as night closes in on the Square, and Ronnie’s released from prison, does Alfie have reason to be so afraid for Tommy’s welfare?

We’ll find out soon, but for now, here’s a look at the next episode of the BBC1 drama…
