EastEnders Spoilers: As Ian Beale’s financial woes worsen, he’s saved when he finds a stash of cash! But whose is it?! (VIDEO)

EastEnders

In recent weeks, we’ve seen Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) becoming determined to open a new restaurant on the Square, despite vehement opposition from his daughter Lucy (Hetti Bywater) who’s convinced that the stress of starting up a new business could push her father back to the brink of a nervous breakdown…

However, Ian has simply carried on quietly setting his new venture up, and has rented what used to be The Emporium’s premises and in next week’s episodes, he has builders lined up ready to start work turning the space into a trendy eatery…

But despite the fact that Ian has had financial backing from Janine Moon (Charlie Brooks) the costs of the refurbishment begin to spiral out of control, and the cash she loaned him is soon gone.

And by the time we see the episode that air on Friday, May 10, with the money all gone and the builders refusing to carry on working until they get some more cash from Ian, it looks like it’s all over before it’s even begun…

However, when Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) tells a disheartened Ian that he should do some of the work himself, he does just that and with renewed vigour, he’s sure he can cope – for now – without the builders.

Jean then turns up to help, and the pair are soon making headway with the work when they discover a small safe under the floor. It’s not long before Ian gets it open – unbeknownst to Jean – and he’s over the moon to discover that it contains a big wad of cash!

There are a few other items in there too that point to the rightful owner, but will Ian surrender his find? Or will he keep quiet and use the money to continue with work on the restaurant?

Find out next week! For now, here’s a look at the next episode…
