EastEnders Spoilers: Charlie Brooks says Janine is “terrified her baby will die”

As fans of EastEnders will know, Janine Malloy – who may in fact be Janine Moon soon – is about to give birth to a baby girl, but as the bubby will be born prematurely, her life will hang in the balance as medics battle to save her life.

Charlie Brooks, who of course plays Janine, has revealed to Soaplife that the birth will finally expose a large mum-shaped hole in Janine’s armour, and that she will be “terrified” that her baby won’t make it.

Of Janine’s reaction to learning that her daughter may not pull through, Charlie said, “[She’s] confused, scared and all over the place really. She’s struggling.”

Charlie added, “With babies as premature as hers, it’s touch and go. Janine just wants to take her home and be her mum.

“She feels helpless because there’s nothing she can do to make the baby better…

“The doctors can’t tell Janine if the baby is going to live, or if she is going to have problems caused by her premature birth.

“They can’t predict what the outcome will be.”

And when asked if Michael Moon (Steve John Shepherd) is supportive of Janine when their baby is born, Charlie said, “In the early stages, yes, but the situation freaks him out and gradually he pulls away.

“There’s another couple in the unit and the dad is there all the time. Janine gets cross and has a go at Michael because he isn’t…

“She’s worried that he’s going to take all her money and run.”

Finally, when asked if Janine has “a maternal bond” with her baby, who Janine will at first name Patricia but Michael will rename Scarlett, Charlie said, “Oh yes. She spends her whole time next to her incubator.

“She’s a total wreck and feels like running away, too, at times, but she knows she can’t.

“She is all that her daughter has got and she’s terrified her baby will die.”

Do you think the baby will or should live, given that EastEnders bosses have fended off a good deal of flack over the gloominess portrayed in the show? And of course, there was a big hoo-hah over the baby swap storyline, which both angered and depressed viewers…

So are they likely to run the gauntlet by having another infant death plotline?

Of course the baby should survive, everyone wants to see janine actually care for something other than herself, I’m starting to like janine slightly more so just give her a chance and everyone loves new baby’s and characters in eastenders, I would love to see janine actually forgetting about work and appreciating the new gift she has. And I would love to see Michael lose out, I hate him. Give janine and the baby a chance, get rid of Michael, give us the first happy ending in years there used to be happy endings now it’s getting a bit too sad and depressing!

East enders is supposed to be a drama , not a romantic comedy , either way East enders is just a soap opera .

If everything went smoothly all right then it would get boring and nobody would watch it , teh reason why people watch is cos people like drama , so let the writters of the soap do whetever they think is best and if you dont like it you can always skip it and watch a comedy instead.
People in general just like complaining thats what is turning Eastenders incredibly boring lately and finally and just when I was about to give up on watching it out of pure boredom then something interesting is happening after months of boredom , let it be please.

Janine and Michael are rather mean characters and they do not deserve much luck after all .

I do not understand why people always complain about Eastenders being depressing . Do they not know comedies exist ??? Eastenders is not a comedy !
