EastEnders Spoilers: Ian Beale will try to rip Jean Slater off in a bid to open his new restaurant! Is this the end of Mr Nice Guy? (VIDEO)

EastEnders

Ever since Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) returned to Walford in the midst of his nervous breakdown last year, he’s been a changed man…

His recovery from mental illness has seen him take on an altogether softer persona from the ruthless businessman he used to be, however, in this week’s episodes, we’re set to see that that aspect of Ian’s personality is to make a comeback.

The drama begins when Ian confides in Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) that despite the fact his daughter Lucy (Hetti Bywater) has vetoed the idea of him opening a restaurant, he wants to go ahead with the plan to rent the space used by the Emporium to open the new venture. But he’s not sure he’s doing the right thing…

Supportive Jean is excited for Ian, and she tells him he should follow his heart and if opening a new business is what he wants, he should just go for it…

Taking her words on board, Ian then meets up with the agent who’s renting out the Emporium, however, he’s disheartened when he learns that he doesn’t have enough money to put down a deposit and advance rent.

A dejected Ian will relay this to Jean, who then tells him that in future, he should do what she does which is to keep some cash aside for a rainy day. As soon as Ian hears this, he immediately wants Jean to lend him the money, however, he goes about it in an underhanded way, which Jean see right through and berates him for, telling him how disappointed she is that he would try to dupe her like that.

But as we’ll see on Friday 26, Ian’s not ready to admit defeat yet and plans to get the money from Janine Moon (Charlie Brooks). However, when he arrives for the meeting with Janine, he’s furious when she tells him she doesn’t have time to see him but adds that he can tell Billy (Perry Fenwick) whatever it is he wants and she’ll deal with it later.

So, once again trying to make the best of things, and hoping that Billy can access Janine’s cheque book, Ian spends the afternoon plying Billy with drinks while outlining his plan for the Emporium…

However, he’s once again left deflated when Billy informs him that Janine will have to make the decision over the money as he doesn’t have access to the business accounts.

Will Janine throw Ian a lifeline? Find out next week, but for now, here’s a look at the next visit to Walford…
