As fans of EastEnders will know, Tanya Branning is rapidly reaching the end of her tether with Kirsty Branning’s continued presence on the Square. Kirsty of course turned up on Christmas Day and announced that she and Max are married.
And next week, Tanya (Jo Joyner) will present Kirsty (Kierston Wareing) with divorce papers that she’ll demand Kirsty her love rival signs, and though initially Kirsty point blank refuses, after realizing that she’s facing defeat in her bid to win Max back, she’ll hand him the signed documents as she tells him that she’s leaving Walford.
However, in an interview with Inside Soap magazine, Jake Wood – who of course plays Max – has revealed that when his character decides to be brutally honest with Tanya about his relationship with Kirsty, she’s set to realize that he still has some feelings for his wife…
And of the scenes in which Max comes clean with Tanya, Jake said, “We filmed 20 pages of dialogue between Max and Tanya. It’s beautifully done.
“It’ll be truly heart-wrenching for the viewers to watch this, because it’s a couple at breaking point.”
He added, “Max, for once in his life, is totally honest with Tanya about everything.
“He tells her all about Kirsty having a termination, and over the course of the conversation, it becomes clear to Tanya that Max still feels a lot for Kirsty…
“It’s really painful for Tanya to hear. There is a proper sense of finality to these scenes.
“I don’t know what they have planned for us in the future, but from what I can sense, it feels like Max and Tanya could very well be coming to the end of the line as a couple.”
As mentioned, we’ll see those dramatic scenes next week, but for now, here’s a look at tonight’s episode, which will see Max once again rebuffing Kirsty…
