EastEnders star Jamie Lomas has revealed that he is just about to film his final scenes for the show, as well as admitting that there are a few twists and turns still to come for his character, Jake Stone.

Fans of the hit BBC soap will know how Jake is currently behind bars and is suspected as being responsible for the recent murder of Lucy Beale (Hetti Bywater), but with many of the characters involved starting to believe he may not actually be guilty. There is still a lot more to this storyline than meets the eye.

We have never believed that Jake is a murderer, mainly because we were told that the big reveal over killed Lucy and dumped her body on Walford Common this Easter wouldn’t be made until the show’s 30th birthday next February.

But one thing we did know was that Jamie Lomas, who plays the recovering alcoholic, had been axed from the show, but now we aren’t’ so sure…

Discussing his on-screen exit in a recent interview with The Radio Times, Lomas hinted that there is a chance his character may be back, telling the publication:

“I film the final scenes next week, but are they the final scenes? I’m not going to give too much away, but there is a chance that Jake might be coming back.”

Meanwhile before his character does or doesn’t say goodbye to Walford for good, Lomas has revealed that there are some more surprises yet, and warned of “harrowing scenes” featuring Jake coming our way, as he explained:

“I’ve recently filmed some really harrowing scenes, but it’s not the end of the road for Jake. We’ll have to see what happens.”

But the big question remains, did Jake kill Lucy? Lomas’ opinion is that he did now, and when asked who he thought the actual killer was he replied:

“I have a feeling that it might be Nick Cotton. Maybe something off kilter like that. But that’s the good thing about the storyline – everybody’s in the frame, but nobody knows.”

EastEnders continues tonight at 7.30pm on BBC1 / BBC1 HD – Watch the extra EastEnders scene with Lomas’ character being questioned by police in the clip below:
