EastEnders Spoilers: Jean Slater has a date with Ollie, but she panics when he makes a confession! (VIDEO)

As we saw in last week’s episodes of EastEnders, Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) finally got the allotment that she’s been waiting for, and, while hoping it will provide a haven of peace and tranquility away from the stresses of the Square, there could also be romance ahead for chef Jean in the form of fellow gardener Ollie Walters…

However, Jean is of course distracted at the moment over the fact that she’s lied to Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) about what caused the damage at Scarlett’s, because of course, the truth is that a fire broke out in the restaurant while Jean, Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) and Bianca Butcher were in there after hours while looking for Jean’s handbag.

Ever since, Jean’s been avoiding Ian like the plague, terrified that if she confesses the truth, she’ll not only be sacked, but may also face getting into trouble with the police. And that’s a fear shared by Bianca (Patsy Palmer) who is of course currently on parole.

So, when Ollie (Tony O’Callaghan) asks Jean out on a date in next week’s episodes, we’ll see that she’s initially reluctant, so caught up is she in the Scarlett’s drama, however, Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) manages to persuade her that a distraction is just what she needs, so Jean does indeed go on the date…

However, though things initially go well, when Ollie mentions that he’s a retired police officer, Jean’s instantly on edge. Seeing this, Ollie takes Jean’s hand and quietly reassures her that he doesn’t care about whatever she’s done wrong.

Visibly relaxed by his words, the date ends on a sweet note as the couple share a kiss. So has Jean found love at last?

We’ll find out soon, but for now, here’s a look at the next visit to EastEnders…
