EastEnders Spoilers: Lauren Branning’s arrested after she punches Lucy Beale & steals from Cora! (VIDEO)

In next week’s episodes of EastEnders, Lauren Branning’s struggles with booze reach a dramatic climax when not only does she steal from her own grandmother to fund her drinking, but in a booze fuelled rage, she also lashes out at Lucy Beale, and is arrested!

The drama begins on Monday, May 27 when, fed up of Lauren’s drinking, her mum Tanya (Jo Joyner) decides enough is enough and so asks Denise Fox (Diane Parish) and Kirsty Branning (Kierston Wareing) not to sell Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa) any alcohol…

However, Denise points out that if Lauren’s determined to drink, nothing will stop her, and when later in the week Lauren steals money from Cora (Ann Mitchell) to do just that, Tanya’s at her wits end as to how to deal with her daughter.

And things are set to get worse when, in the episode that airs on Thursday, May 28th – after Dot (June Brown) gave Lauren cash to buy college books, which she spent on booze – Tanya decides to make Lauren work some shifts at the launderette to pay back what she owes…

Initially, Lauren tries to muck things up, deliberately damaging a load of washing, however, once she’s resigned to her fate, she gets stuck in and everyone’s pleased with how she’s done. However, when Tanya then gives Lauren some cash as a treat, sure enough, she immediately spends it on booze.

However, when her sister Abi (Lorna Fitzgerald) later pleads with Lauren to come home, Lauren’s aggressive and shuns Abi, which Joey (David Witts) sees and tries to intervene…

Seeing the old intimacy between Joey and Lauren surfacing, a jealous Lucy (Hetti Bywater) winds Lauren up until she snaps and punches Lucy in the face! Joey tries to restrain her, but Lauren grabs a jar off the table and throws it through the window before storming off.

On Friday 31, Abi’s in The Vic with Lauren, and she can’t believe what Lauren’s just done, but all Lauren cares about is getting a drink. However, she’s thwarted when the police arrive and immediately arrest Lauren for assaulting Lucy!

Will Lucy insist on seeing through the assault charge? Or can Joey talk her round? Find out next week!
