EastEnders newcomer Kellie Bright has suffered for her art recently, given that she became soaking wet during filming of an upcoming scene in which the Carter family’s attempts to save money by doing a spot of DIY go very much awry!

The drama begins when Kellie’s character Linda and her husband Mick (Danny Dyer) – who are of course the new owners of The Vic – find out that the building is riddled with rising damp…

At first, they try to get Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) to cough up for the repairs that the pub needs, given that he sold them the premises, but in true Phil style, he’s having none of it, and he tells Mick and Linda that it’s their own fault the damp issues weren’t found previously before they closed the deal and took over The Vic.

But with money tight, Linda decides that they should attempt the repairs themselves, but as you can see in the images from the BBC, when her daughter Nancy (Maddy Hill) bursts a water pipe in the pub’s cellar!

As we’ll see in the episode that airs on Friday 24th January, Linda’s none too pleased at getting soaked, but even less happy that they now have to call in a plumber as well.

Meanwhile, in tonight’s visit to Albert Square, Carol Jackson (Lindsey Coulson) finally goes back to the hospital to get the results of her biopsy, and sadly for her, the tests show that she does have breast cancer…

As we reported recently, the news is going to knock Carol for six, but the storyline is the vehicle for Natalie Cassidy’s character Sonia Fowler – who’s Carol’s daughter – to return to the show.

We’ll see Carol going to visit Sonia to tell her the bad news, but when she does, she breaks down, and both Sonia and Bianca (Patsy Palmer) realise how fragile she is, and vow to do whatever it takes to make things as easy as they can be for their mum.

Here’s a look at tonight’s drama…
