EastEnders Spoilers: Sharon Rickman and Jack Branning’s wedding is called off! But why?! (VIDEO)

Eastenders

Next week’s episodes of EastEnders are set to feature that most staple of the soapy diet; the will-they-won’t-they wedding day!

However, in this instance, it’s rather more a why-didn’t-they cliffhanger as we already know that Sharon Rickman (Letitia Dean) and Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) will in fact call off their wedding…

The big question is, why?

Well, there are of course a number of reasons as to why one of them might ditch the other at the altar. For example, Sharon’s feelings for old flame Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) might prompt Jack to wonder if she would remain loyal to him if she becomes his wife…

And equally, if it’s Sharon that calls the wedding off, it may be that she’s prompted to do so after realising she’s actually still in love with Phil.

In terms of possible clues as to why the wedding won’t go ahead, we’ll get one in the episode that airs on Thursday 11 April when Phil tells Lola (Danielle Harold) that he’s decided to attend the nuptials after all…

But when Lola warns him not to cause trouble, he’ll tell her, “Trust me, after I’ve said my piece, there won’t be a wedding…”

Then again, if it’s Jack who balks at the last hurdle, it may be because his ex-wife Ronnie has been in touch, and for reasons of his own, Jack’s chosen not to tell Sharon that he’s had contact with Ronnie.

So will he be the one who calls it off after he realises he just doesn’t love Sharon as much as he loves, or loved, Ronnie?

Well the fact is, both Sharon and Jack are keeping secrets from each other, and that’s never a good place from which to start a life together…

But tune in next week to find out who pulls the plug, and why! For now, here’s a look at the next visit to Albert Square…
