EastEnders Spoilers: Watch spoiler clip of Zainab and Masood’s tearful goodbye! Tissues at the ready alert!
Tonight’s visit to Walford will be the last time that we see the brilliant Nina Wadia in the role of Zainab, and as you’ll see in a spoiler clip that we have for you after the jump, her final scenes with Nitin Ganatra as Masood would elicit a tear from a glass eye…
Sobbing, Masood will tell Zainab, “I don’t want this anymore…” as she weeps in his arms, and apparently, those tears were real ones for both Nina and Nitin.
Speaking to the Daily Star recently, Nitin said of Nina’s departure from the show, “I really do miss her…
“We worked together for five years intensely and we had a really good rapport.”
And while speaking to Digital Spy recently about her last day of filming, Nina said, “Oh my goodness, it was very sad with lots of tears!
“I tended to stay away from everyone on the last day, because every time someone came to give me a hug, I’d burst into tears.
“I was keeping myself to myself, which is not like me at all – I love company…
“But on that day I knew that if anyone came near me, I would just cry! It was hard.”
And when asked who among the cast she’ll miss the most, Nina said, “I will miss Himesh Patel, Nitin Ganatra, baby Kamil and Diane Parish. Those are the core group who were around me.
“Also, Ricky Norwood was my next-door neighbour on our little dressing room terrace and I shall miss him terribly – he gives good massages!
“Sometimes there’s a bit of a rivalry over who gives the best massages, but I’m sorry, he’s number one for me!
“I’ll also miss Tameka Empson, Chucky Venn, Linda Henry, Jo Joyner, Patsy Palmer…
“Honestly, I could just sit here and name every member of the cast. The list is endless.
“I just didn’t work with certain people as much, but we all met in the green room and around the set.
“And of course I will totally miss Rita Simons, who is just insane in the best way possible – she has a great sense of humour.”
Well I’m certainly going to miss Nina! Are you?
Here’s a look at her final scenes…
