EastEnders star Chucky Venn, who plays the role of barman and chef Ray Dixon, has revealed that there’s a good deal more to his character than we’ve as yet seen.

And though he wouldn’t – or couldn’t – reveal if Ray is to be the mystery man with whom Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) is about to embark on an affair, he did say that he thought it would be out of character for Ray, but added, “we all have our dark sides.”

Speaking to Inside Soap magazine, Chucky went on to say that his character’s girlfriend, Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) should be enough of a woman to keep any man happy!

But of the affair plotline, he said, “Kat’s a saucy minx, and what man wouldn’t want to get involved with her?

“[But] Ray is a loyal, caring father – but we all have our dark sides…

“There’s a lot the audience hasn’t seen yet, put it that way.”

And Tameka added that there would be “fireworks” if Ray was Kat’s mystery man.

She said, “It would be handbags and nails at dawn. Kim and Kat are good friends, so would Kat really go there?

“I’m playing detective in-between takes, but I’m still none the wiser.”

We’ll see the affair storyline begin on July 4th and the identity of Kat’s lover won’t be revealed until the autumn.
