EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa has revealed that if her character Lauren’s dad Max turns out to be Kat Moon’s mystery lover, Lauren is likely to have a meltdown and “kick off!”

As fans of the show will of course know, the mystery over just who is Kat’s lover has been rumbling on for months now, and though initially five Walford men were in the frame, just three remain…

And those three are Branning brothers Derek (Jamie Foreman) Jack (Scott Maslen) and of course, Max (Jake Wood).

Ray Dixon (Chucky Venn) and Michael Moon (Steve John Shepherd) have been ruled out in the last few weeks.

But of the prospect that Max is seeing Kat (Jessie Wallace) Jacqueline told the Daily Star, “If Max is Kat’s secret boyfriend then Lauren will be fuming…

“I can promise you she’ll kick off big time. I think it would be the last straw for her and Max.

“She would think Tanya is a nutter if she got back with him again.”

Well that’s surely a sentiment that many viewers would share, especially as Max and Tanya (Jo Joyner) are due to wed for the second time on Christmas Eve this year…

But given that Jo – who’s taking a few months off from the show in the New Year – has promised that the festive storylines are going to once again focus on the Brannings, just as they did when Max’s affair with daughter-in-law Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) was revealed at Christmas in 2007, perhaps it will transpire that Max has been playing away with Kat!

However, Lauren is of course about to embark on a taboo affair of her own as she falls for her cousin Joey (David Witts) in upcoming episodes.
