As fans of EastEnders will surely know, there’s about to be a new whodunit storyline when Kat Moon embarks on an affair with a man from the Square.

And yes, I am a poet and I do in fact know it.

However, it seems that Jessie Wallace, who of course plays Kat, has no idea who her character’s mystery man is as yet, and like the rest of us, she “can’t wait” to find out!

There are of course five suspects in the (bed) frame, and they are, Ray Dixon, Michael Moon and all of the Branning brothers, Derek, Max and Jack though for some reason, Jack isn’t in the above image… a clue or just photo logistics? Mmm the thick plottens…

Of the plotline, Jessie – whose real name is Karen Jane Wallace; she adopted her late grandmother Jessie’s name – told Inside Soap, “It’s really exciting. It’s cleverly written so no-one knows who Kat’s secret lover is…

“Not even me or the mystery man himself!”

She added, “I love coming in to work every day and discovering even more brilliant twists to the plot. Everyone is going to love the excitement of the storyline.

“The scriptwriters have been brilliant at putting everyone in the frame. I can’t wait to find out who it is.”

And of Kat’s motivation for having yet another affair, Jessie said, “Kat doesn’t think [Alfie] has the same interest in her that he used to.

“Alfie just seems content with domestic life, and the passion has gone.”

And of how Kat’s flirtatious nature alerts the mystery man to the possibility that he’s in with a chance of bedding her, and yet doesn’t raise a red flag to Alfie, Jessie added, “You have to remember that Alfie has always loved Kat’s sexy side.

“So he doesn’t see any harm in [the flirting].”

Aww poor Alfie!
