EastEnders stars Himesh Patel and Meryl Fernandes have revealed that they hope their characters Tamwar and Afia Masood can live happily ever after.

The stars, who made their comments while attending this year’s the Inside Soap Awards to collect the Best Wedding award for Tamwar and Afia’s wedding, added that they hope all the “drama” is now over for the young newlyweds.

Meryl told the PA, “I hope they live happily ever after. They’re so in love…

“They’re really cute, and I think they have a very beautiful innocent love that I definitely think will last.”

Himesh added, “We told them to make us the couple that last.”
