EastEnders: Syed set to fall for new boy Danny Pennant? Plus Tyler interrupts a smashing time, and will Lola lose Lexie?! (VIDEO)

Our first snippet of EastEnders gossip today is that it seems Syed Masood could be about to fall for newcomer Danny Pennant – who’s played by Gary Lucy – after the city whiz kid makes Syed a tempting offer…

Things for Syed have of course been going awry ever since his shipment of Olympics souvenirs went astray, leaving him with boxes of worthless goods, given that they arrived too late for him to flog the stuff to tourists.

Since then, having made a deal with Janine (Charlie Brooks) to sell her what seems to be a lifetime’s supply of cleaning products, Syed found Michael Moon (Steve John Shepherd) entirely unsympathetic to his plight – because of course, Janine has done a runner – and as we saw last night, he refused to honour Janine’s agreement.

So now, Syed is well out of pocket, but he’s desperate to keep that fact a secret from his boyfriend Christian (John Partridge) and of course, from his family…

However, when Zainab (Nina Wadia) tells Syed that she needs his help to pay some overdue bills, Syed (Marc Elliott) has to think fast, so he lies to her and says he’ll get her the money, while having no idea where from!

Enter city banker Danny, with whom Syed becomes embroiled in a chat about money at the Argee Bhajee…

Telling Syed that sometimes, talking to a stranger about things can prove cathartic, Syed does just that, and it’s soon clear that there’s a spark between the pair. However, when their meeting is interrupted by Christian, an embarrassed Syed has to do some fast talking.

We’ll see these scenes on Thursday, September 27 and Friday, September 28 on BBC1, however, in tonight’s visit to the Square, Joey Branning (David Witts) is as ever always up for anything that’s going to annoy his dad Derek (Jamie Foreman).

But as you’ll see in the clip below, his latest stunt doesn’t only affect Derek, given that he’s gone into partnership with Tyler (Tony Discipline) at the Emporium…

Also tonight, Lola (Danielle Harold) meets her new social worker, as does her granddad Billy (Perry Fenwick) and BFF Jay (Jamie Borthwick).

But now that Billy’s unemployed, Lola’s terrified that social services will find out and take baby Lexie from her. So can Billy bluff his way out of this one?

Find out tonight!
