Next week, Tanya Branning (Jo Joyner) has to go to hospital for an MRI scan to find out if her cancer is in remission or if it’s still a worry…
And the good news is, she’ll be given the all clear, giving the Branning’s cause to celebrate, however, Tanya’s marriage to Max (Jake Wood) doesn’t have a similarly clean bill of health.
As we’ve seen over the past few months, Tanya doesn’t want to have sex with Max, and though he’s vowed repeatedly to stand by her, regardless of their bedroom issues, he’s recently been tempted into an affair by Roxy Mitchell (Rita Simons)…
And even as he’s waiting nervously to find out the results of Tanya’s MRI, he and Roxy are exchanging flirtatious texts, but in a fit of guilt, Max will eventually text Roxy and tell her to stop contacting him, and he cancels a previously arranged meet with her.
But will she leave him alone? And does he really want her to? Well, if she doesn’t she’s pretty despicable – who has an affair with a man whose wife has cancer?? – as would he be of course.
Meanwhile, as Max is battling his demons, Tanya has a heart to heart with her daughter Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa) and reveals that although she is of course delighted her cancer’s gone, she afraid it will return.
However, Lauren points out to her mum that if she lives in fear, the disease has beaten her, one way or another, and inspired by her daughter’s words, Tanya delighted begins to destroy the sofa, which she says was her “prison” during her battle with illness.
But is it just a front or does Tanya really have a new lease of life?
Find out when the plotline plays out as of next week!
