Eastenders: Tanya Buries Max Alive

Tanya Branning

The Sun has reported today that in order to stop Max taking custody of her three children, Eastenders Tanya Branning is planning to bury him alive.

Now I know that Eastenders writers have come up with more than a few ‘way out’ storylines in their time, but surely this takes the biscuit.

How on earth are they going to make this seem in any way believable? How could Tanya think that drugging her ex husband and burying him the woods is a viable solution to her problems? Murder, I could understand…well not in real life obviously, but in soap land, it seems to be the done thing. But to bury the man alive….it all seems kind of extreme doesn’t it?

Ahh to be very honest, this has got to be by far the most desperate attempt to keep eastenders alive! i mean really, tanya? how unrealistic.. we already have useless charactrs [heather, shirly, hazell etc] and now this.. i say they get a new writer, heck they should employ me! goodness, what a waste..

Indeed this does take the chocolate digestive! what a story line, i mean how unrealistic and is Tanya that stupid to even think that he’ll get away with it.. killing max wouldn’t make her problem go away, it would worsen! geez eastenders are truly losing it, or they truly have lost it! i agree with CJ, they should quit!

I completely agree, burying Max alive is going a little bit over the top don’t you think? It’s a very unrealistic plot and can just tell it’s going to get really bad ratings- I mean don’t you think Abi and Lauren are going to realise their Dad is missing?? It’s taking revenge tactics too far and I don’t think Max has done anything enough to be killed - what a joke, I will enjoy laughing!

It’s a pity because this would have, otherwise, been an interesting and well-polished storyline. I would have been a little more interested in a bit more real courtroom drama and custody battles to be honest. Not to mention the fact that it’s completely out of character for Tanya.

Can see ur points of view and yes it does seem like a desperate way of getting more viewers. But unrealistic even for a soap? na! Tanya is desperate to get revenge on max and in her mind killing him would probably be the easy way out. she wants to make max pay and see him suffer, so can see why they thought of the idea. And as for tanya not having it in her, shes on the verge of losing custody of her children and max always finds a way of getting too her. push her over the edge and im sure she’d snap. will be interesting to see who goes down for it though. i haven’t heard any rumours about her leaving the show, but i know that the actor who plays sean is leaving in november/december time. i wonder if they’l link it to this storyline since its him who helps tanya bury max

The idea of burying max in a coffin comes to light next week. “Jack wants to know what Max has told her that he doesn’t know about. She duly explains to him about the night Max was locked in a coffin.”
Max was clearly locked in a coffin and so will be traumatised from it.

Max has no intentions of signing over everything to tanya. He suspects tanya is still involved with sean, and his suspicians are confirmed when he walks in while tanya is on the phone to sean. Tanya will pretend its a sales person but max does not believe her. Max will reveal to tanya he has no intentions of signing everything over to her, she kicks him out and the custody for the children goes on. Max threatens to take the children away from tanya and this makes tanya want to get revenge on him. For those who think killing him off is a better way, the reason they are not doing that is because the actor is only out on paternity leave so will be returning to the show. And sean will not go to prison since hes not leaving untill december. it will probably be one big storyline when max returns

This is an excellently written story line, and is believable, there is nothing wrong with this at all!!
Soap is always a bit far fetched!… It has to be, or it wouldnt be interesting to watch!
Sometimes it is too far from reality, but this story line is great!

Why is everyone saying “what has Eastenders come to”
It has and continues to have, thousands gripped to their story lines!
And this one is Just another, that is excellent and gripping to watch.

    Tonights episode was excellent viewing!!…
