Pat, who’s played by Pam St Clement, was rumoured to have been going to die in a fire at the B&B, however, then another rumour began that she would die of cancer. And now, the show’s bosses have also filmed her dying of a heart attack.
However, there could be yet more endings that haven’t managed to make it to the media yet!
The Daily Mirror states that, “This week, the three alternate endings were filmed – one of which will be slotted into relevant scenes at Christmas.”
A show insider said, “When bosses built a special set for a huge fire in the Square everyone thought that was definitely how Pat was going to go.
“But now there is talk of a second person dying in the flames. And the two other options can be added in at the last minute…
“There are even gaps in the scripts being given to cast members so the news can’t leak out.”
The insider added, “The whole place is buzzing with what is going to happen.”
However, a spokesperson for the show said, “Although there has been much speculation around Pat’s departure, we’re not going to comment as we don’t want to spoil the surprise for the viewers.”
Pam, who is expected to film her final Walford scenes next week, announced her decision to leave the show earlier this year. She’s been a regular character in EastEnders since 1986.
It’s expected that at the close of filming Pat’s demise, the cast and crew of the show are to attend a party that will celebrate Pam’s many years on the show.
During her long TV and stage career, Pam has also starred in The Onedin Line, Follyfoot, Doomwatch, Within These Walls, and a in 1980, she had a role in Emmerdale as Anne Eckersley.
