EastEnders: Tyler Moon punches Joey Branning in the face! Maybe his cousin Lauren can kiss it better?

by Lynn Connolly

Thanks to his brother Anthony (Matt Lapinskas) losing the Moon family business to shady Derek Branning during a game of poker, EastEnder Tyler Moon is of course now jobless…

So, when Derek (Jamie Foreman) offers to let him run a market stall for him, Tyler (Tony Discipline) has little choice but to accept, given that job offers aren’t exactly flooding in.

However, when Derek’s son Joey (David Witts) makes fun of Tyler for being at Derek’s beck and call, Tyler loses his temper and lashes out, landing a punch right on Joey’s nose! And of course, twisted Derek loves every minute of it.

Of the plotline, an EastEnders insider told the Star, “Derek offers Tyler a stall in a bid to wind Joey up…

“He really gets under his skin but Joey knows exactly what he’s up to.

“He tells Tyler that his dad is using him in a bid to impress him.

“Tyler doesn’t care what’s going on between Joey and his dad, he just needs to make a living and was happy to accept his offer of a stall.

“He tells Joey to stay out of his face as he’s not interested in what he has got to say. And it’s not long before the pair are arguing.

“Joey calls Tyler Derek’s ‘lapdog’ before insulting his brother Anthony. This causes Tyler to lose it and he punches Joey in the face.

“It’s going to take some doing for these two ever to be on good terms.”

The insider added, “Derek is determined to punish his son and will continue doing so until he gets him on side.”

Well one person who is reportedly very much on Joey’s side – and who would apparently like to be on other parts of him too – is his cousin Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa) who is set to fall for Joey in a big way!

Again, it’s the Daily Star that reported on this roll your own plot twist, with another insider saying, “This is going to be a huge storyline across the autumn. Lauren hits the booze and shows her vulnerable side to Joey.

“He’s there for her and feels very protective. The more time they spend together the more they start to realise their feelings for each other are not just that of cousins.”

As the sexual chemistry between the pair intensifies, they’ll try to hide their feelings from Lauren’s parents Max and Tanya, and of course Joey’s dad Derek.

The show source added, “It’s a powerful force…

“The attraction is so strong between them that it’s going to take something huge to stop them jumping into bed.”

Or something huge that prompts them to jump into bed one might assume…

Oo matron.
