EastEnders: Will Ben Mitchell betray his dad Phil over Stella Crawford’s death?
News from Walford way today is rife with speculation that Ben Mitchell (Joshua Pascoe) is soon to be faced with a big decision that could see his dad Phil (Steve McFadden) either go to prison for life, or stay a free man.
As fans of the show will know, Ben turned out to be Phil’s stalker, and though Phil doesn’t yet know the truth of who was behind the torment campaign, his girlfriend Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) does.
She’s made Ben swear to her that his stalking days are over, but when DCI Marsden (Sophie Stanton) shows up in Walford and begins asking questions about Stella’s death, will Ben seize the opportunity to put his dad away for a long time?
Stella (Sophie Thompson) was of course Phil’s fiancé, but on the day they were to get married, Phil learned that she’d bullied and abused Ben, and in a shocking rooftop – where else – confrontation, Stella jumped to her death…
Here are a few clips of that plotline to remind you of what happened, and at that time, Ben was played by Charlie Jones…
But of course, there were no witnesses to the fatal leap, and in light of the newly reopened investigation into Kevin Wicks’ death, Marsden wonders if Stella’s demise was really a suicide, or if Phil murdered her.
This storyline kicks in later this month, but for now, here’s a clip of Joshua Pascoe talking about Ben Mitchell being the stalker…
What do you think? Will Ben try to get Phil banged up or will he do whatever he can to save his dad’s skin?
