This Christmas in EastEnders is going to follow the traditional route of misery heaped upon misery as at least two of the Square’s residents die, several are horribly burned in the B&B blaze, and Phil Mitchell is arrested for murder!
Beginning with the fire, as you’re sure to know by now, Dr Yusef Khan (Ace Bhatti) will meet his maker via the blaze, and it’s been suggested that’s how Pat Evans (Pam St Clement) will also die.
But as well as Tamwar Masood (Himesh Patel) coming out of the blaze with disfiguring burns, his dad Mas (Nitin Ganatra) and Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) will also be left badly injured.
In fact, it’s a really bad Christmas for Phil because not only is he still being hounded by the mystery stalker, he gets a shock when the police turn up to arrest him for the murder of Kevin Wicks, who was played by Phil Daniels.
As viewers may recall, Kevin died in an horrific car crash, and Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) comforted him as he passed away. Here’s a clip of his sad end…
However, in the new turn of events, after a tip off from Phil’s stalker, the police find out that Kevin was driving a “cut and shut” that he bought from Phil, so in Scrooge-like fashion, Phil’s ill deeds come back to haunt him this Christmas.
An EastEnders insider told The Sun, “Phil’s past is catching up with him. Whoever it is knows a lot about him and his history.
“The problem is that list is as long as your arm. Everyone becomes a suspect and he starts to think people are laughing at him.
“He will almost be driven mad trying to find out who is tormenting him.
“In the end the police get the evidence they need to arrest him. But who hates Phil enough to fit him up?
“And will he get away with murder again?”
And as if all that wasn’t enough, Heather Trott (Cheryl Fergison) is set to be brutally murdered in the New Year!
O man I can’t wait for Christmas in soapy land!
