The Masood family are in for a shock later this year as Zainab falls pregnant in her 40’s.

Zainab already has three grown up children, Shabnam (Zahra Ahmadi), Syed (Marc Elliott) and Tamwar (Himesh Patel) and is shocked to find out that she is pregnant again.

Zainab’s husband Masood is happy with the development but Zainab is furious as she and her husband had planned to leave Walford and travel once her youngest son finished his A levels.

A show insider told The Sun: “What should be a special moment in their lives is greeted with dismay.

“They had hoped to go off and travel and enjoy their new-found freedom now the kids have grown up.

“Zainab takes it badly and throws a real tantrum, but Masood is more relaxed about it – even though it was his dream to go off together.

“She feels she’s done her motherly duties and hates the idea that she’ll be a mum when she’s in her sixties.

“It puts a really dark cloud over the relationship for a while.”

I think this is a great topic for Easties to tackle and one that affects many women of this age in real life. Just because you move on emotionally, doesn’t mean your body moves on too. I can just imagine (and fully understand) Zainab’s frustration over this one.
