British musician Ed Sheeran has had the best year and he’s got the facts and figures to back that statement up but if you’re expecting another album soon, you’re about to be surely disappointed.

Ed’s most recent album ‘X’ has been a massive seller and was the perfect follow up to his debut effort but it’s been a hectic few years and it sounds like once his international tour is complete, the singer is going off the radar for a little while.

It’s being reported by The Sun’s Dan Wootton that fans might have to wait until 2016 at the earliest before getting their hands on another Sheeran album.

The showbiz reporter has spoken with the A Team hitmaker and he explained:

“I haven’t had any time off since before I signed my record deal and I want some! I’ll do what I enjoy and it won’t feel like work.”.

We’re really not surprised that Ed wants to take a break. He’s been touring on his own and as a support act for the best part of 2-3 years and the success of his most recent album has led to everyone wanting a piece of him in terms of interviews and performances.

It’s not just here in the UK, as the star has become a huge hit in the US and around the world too, adding to the pressure.

Sheeran has confirmed he’s been working on a festive song (yes it’s that time of year already) but confessed it won’t be released by this Christmas.

“I have Thinking Out Loud as a single going into Christmas.” Sheeran continued and he revealed that he thinks that will finish his current album for single releases.

“Three is a good number. I did six on the last album and it felt too much. You never go away and people get p***ed off. BRUNO MARS did three, TAYLOR SWIFT did three, Adele did three.”

What do you think? Has Ed earned his time away from the music scene? Of course it’s not permanent, he’s got a lot more to give the world but everyone deserves a break, right?
